The 21st IAA Humans in Space Symposium took place on 27-30 November 2017 in Shenzhen, China. Many participants gathered on this occasion and discussed the future challenges related to human spaceflights. The program was scheduled with a total of 14 regular technical sessions and more than 120 papers presented. There was also a dedicated Astronaut session. A gala dinner with an induction ceremony of newly elected Academicians was organized during the conference.

OBJECTIVE

This conference aims to continue to provide a forum for discussion about fundamental and timely issues and trends as well as for developing collaborations through the exchange of research results and ideas in the field of space life sciences.

VENUE

Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city of Guangdong province in southern China, located at the border with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Shenzhen is a center of foreign investment and since the late 1970s has been one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Shenzhen eventually became one of the largest cities in China, which has become one of the economic powerhouses of China as well as the largest manufacturing base in the world.

Shenzhen enjoys a good reputation for shopping and travel. Shenzhen's major tourist attractions include the Chinese Folk Culture Villages, the Window of the World, Splendid China and the Safari Park, the Dameisha Promenade and Xiaomeisha Beach Resort, Zhongying Street, Xianhu Lake Botanical Garden, and the Minsk World. Shenzhen is famous for the great variety of cuisines that its numerous restaurants provide.

You were invited to contribute a paper for presentation at the Symposium. A one-page, single-spaced abstract of no less than 500 words is needed.
Student papers are encouraged.

Abstracts must be sent by September 15, 2017 deadline.
